There is a lot happening this week, so we've put all the information here in one place:
Saturday, March 23, starting at 10:30am is the City of Pauls Valley Easter Egg Hunt at Wacker Park. Prizes and a hot dog lunch will start at 10:45am. This event is supported by the Ministerial Alliance (including us at First Presbyterian!).
Sunday, March 24 is Palm/Passion Sunday. At 11:00am, come join the celebration and waving of palms and hear scripture from Christ' passion at our regular worship service.
Wednesday, March 27: At 6:30pm there is an egg decorating party in the basement of the church. Bring your own boiled eggs, as many as you want, and all the decorating supplies will be provided. Youth and adults are invited to join this fun event.
Thursday, March 28, is Maundy Thursday. At 7:00pm there will be a community Maundy Thursday service at First Christian Church. Pastors Elaine Howsley from the First Christian Church, Angie Flemming from the First United Methodist Church, and Chas Gowing from our First Presbyterian Church will be participating.
Friday, March 29 is Good Friday. At 7:00pm our church will have a special community Good Friday service. We will present a Tenebrae service with Dr. Jack presenting Hal Hopson’s Tenebrae: A Service of Darkness and will feature an oboe soloist. Pastors Elaine Howsley, Angie Flemming and Chas Gowing will again be participating.
Sunday, March 31 is Easter:
At 11:00am come and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord at our regular worship service featuring a trumpet soloist.
Immediately following worship services there will be an Easter egg hunt, using our decorated eggs from Wednesday's decorating party and plastic candy filled eggs, for all children present. Bring your basket.
Then, after the egg hunt, there will be a potluck lunch in the basement. If you can, bring a side dish or dessert, the church is providing the meat and drinks.
