I'm sure you've all heard of the devastation in the Southeastern United States from hurricane Helene. It's hard for us to imagine the scale of the forces of nature, but we also cannot imagine the emotional impact on people. In North Carolina, the hits kept coming in the form of flooding after the storm was over. Whole houses were washed away.
I have long been impressed by the people at Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. They find ways of helping people in disaster areas directly, and when they cannot, they partner with the most effective organizations that can help. They identify and fill needs, mobilize people and support other organizations mobilizing people, and spend money efficiently and effectively. Read here (https://pda.pcusa.org/situation/hurricane-helene/) to find out more about the ways PDA is working to help those impacted by hurricane Helene. Then explore more at the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance site to find ways that you can Give, Act, and Pray.
