Shall We Dance?

From the earliest days in our churches, liturgical dance was incorporated in worship services. Regrettably, today we have lost that tradition and I think we are missing an exciting ingredient in worship. Have you noticed, dancers are so expressive and bring such joy when they perform? Did you notice the 8 dancers in the recent production of Amahl? Their faces and their actions brought excitement to everyone watching. While these dancers were entertaining the three kings who were on their way to see the new-born baby, the exhausted kings came alive when dancers were performing. The shepherds and villagers reflected that same excitement. The joy permeated the audience. Perhaps we should have more liturgical dance in our worship services!
