Do you like to sing? Do you want to learn some of the music of our upcoming Taize Maundy Thursday service? A group of friends who enjoy singing are gathering for the next three Tuesday evenings (March 25, April 1, and April 8) at 6:00pm to learn and sing through some of that music. We will gather in the choir room in First Presbyterian Church, the Bradley Street door will be open. We're not gathering as a formal choir, and these are not rehearsals. We are gathering to sing together for the enjoyment of it.
On their website, the Taize community says:
To open the gates of trust in God, nothing can replace the beauty of human voices united in song. This beauty can give us a glimpse of "heaven’s joy on earth," as Eastern Christians put it. And an inner life begins to blossom within us.
So as we gather to sing these songs from Taize, we also gather to pray together. As we begin each song, it won't so much be "Let us begin," as "Let us pray." Then we will pray the words of these songs: "Come Holy Spirit," "Lord, Hear My Prayer," "In the Lord, I'll Be Ever Thankful," and others.
We hope to see you there.
