Update on Organ Repairs

How fortunate we are to have a pipe organ. As the Reformation spread across Europe after Martin Luther nailed his 95 famous writings on the Wittenburg cathedral doors in 1517, the pipe organs provided the backbone of congregational singing. Still today, after more than 500 years, congregations that have pipe organs sing better than congregations that have decided to project the words on an overhead screen and provide an electric keyboard accompaniment.

Phase one of our organ repairs is in progress. You may not see the progress, but it is happening. One of these days, the organist may even have a music rack with lights that make the organ music readable.

Thank you, Session members, for your dedication to good congregational singing at First Presbyterian Church, Pauls Valley.
